icu73
- Category:
local-install/ – plain upstream AUR package, maintainer
hinanoaira (not us). Same situation as [[icu72]]/[[icu77]]: a legacy-ICU
shim we don’t maintain on AUR, unlike [[icu74]]/icu75/icu76.
- A stale
/data/INSTALL/icu73 checkout already existed (dated Apr 2024, no
.git – just loose PKGBUILD/patch/LICENSE/source tarball + already-built
i486/i686/pentium4 packages, pinned at 73.2-1; current upstream AUR is now
at 73.2-7, so this predates several upstream bumps). Unlike the usual
local-install workflow (which always fresh-clones), the user explicitly
wanted to republish the EXISTING pre-built packages as-is rather than
rebuild against the newer upstream PKGBUILD:
mv /data/INSTALL/icu73{,-old} (safety rename, standard workflow step).
- Signed + published the existing i486/i686/pentium4 (+debug)
.pkg.tar.zst directly from icu73-old via repo_sign.sh/
repo_publish.sh (no rebuild).
- Moved
icu73-old back to icu73 afterward per the user’s explicit
follow-up (“so they don’t get lost”) – the rename was only ever meant as
a transient safety step during the operation, not a permanent archival
name.
- x86_64 was missing from the old build (never built for that arch
originally). Built it separately in a fresh scratch dir
(
/data/INSTALL/icu73-x86_64, confirmed by name with the user) seeded with
the same PKGBUILD/patch/LICENSE/source tarball copied from icu73
(avoiding re-downloading the ~81MB tarball), via
REPO_BUILD_ONLY_ARCH=x86_64 scripts/repo_build_staged.sh
/data/INSTALL/icu73-x86_64 (passthrough mode, outside arch/). Built
clean, signed+published the same way, then moved the resulting
.pkg.tar.zst/.sig/build logs into /data/INSTALL/icu73 alongside the
other 3 arches and deleted the now-empty scratch dir.
- 2026-10-11 end state: all 4 arches (i486/i686/pentium4/x86_64, + debug
packages) published, consolidated under
/data/INSTALL/icu73, all signed.
Version stays at the old local 73.2-1 – not upstream’s current
73.2-7; a real version bump was deliberately out of scope for this pass.
- Added to
arch/scripts/install_only_packages.
