Source host flip-flop (2026-10-09)

Source URL has bounced between upstream mirrors on AUR-commenter request multiple times:

Note the extension differs by host: invisible-island.net serves the detached signature as .asc, ftp.gnu.org serves it as .sig. Both verify against the same validpgpkeys entry (Thomas Dickey, 19882D92DDA4C400C22C0D56CC2AF4472167BE03). sha256sum of the tarball itself is identical between hosts (same upstream release), so no sha256sums.(re)calc was needed on this switch – only the source=() line and pkgrel changed.

If this gets flagged again in a future AUR comment, check this history before flip-flopping again – it’s been swapped at least twice already on conflicting commenter opinions, with no clear consensus either way.

Known unrelated build noise

The i686 chroot sometimes throws error: command terminated by signal 11: Segmentation fault on pacman post-transaction hooks (locale-gen, ldconfig cache, etc.) during a glibc upgrade inside repo_build_staged.sh’s chroot sync step. This is unrelated to ncurses itself – it happened again on the 2026-10-09 rebuild and the actual package build/package/publish completed fine afterward. Don’t chase it as an ncurses issue.

gcc >= 15 build fix (pre-existing, from AUR comments)

CFLAGS+=' -std=gnu17' in build() is required for gcc >= 15 (fixes -fpermissive-class errors from libstdc++’s type_traits/exception_ptr.h redefining things ncurses’s C++ binding also defines). This was already in place before the 2026-10-09 source-host change; not touched.
