Listed 2 directories (ctrl+o to expand) ● This project automates building a CachyOS desktop VM with a themed Hyprland setup, running on a libvirt/KVM host (eurobuild6). Concretely: - Infrastructure: A CachyOS VM (cachyos) is created under qemu:///system, bridged networking (real LAN IP, not NAT), UEFI boot, Spice console (host-local only). - Pipeline (scripts/00–05): idempotent shell scripts that go end-to-end — download the CachyOS ISO, create the VM, bootstrap SSH access via the Spice console, install an SSH key for passwordless login, install the ML4W dotfiles theme (ml4w.com/os/stable) for Hyprland (waybar, hyprlock, hypridle, hyprpaper, rofi, swaync, kitty, etc.), and fix the default session in plasmalogin (CachyOS's login manager) so Hyprland is preselected. - Goal (per CLAUDE.md): once the base theme is installed, the work shifts to customizing Hyprland — tweaking settings, writing Lua scripts, adding theme-matching icons — plus building more helper scripts (VM install/teardown, theme switching, etc.). - Docs: README.md has the access notes (SSH via abaumann@192.168.1.135, password in PWD, sudo quirks since the VM is German-locale, how to find the VM's IP if DHCP changes, Spice console access). - Other files: a saved session transcript (2026-10-01-...txt) and a bunch of screenshots (c6.png...c20.png, cachyos_boot*.png) presumably documenting the install/theme process. So in short: it's infra-as-scripts for spinning up a themed Hyprland desktop inside a VM, as a sandbox for Hyprland customization work. ✻ Crunched for 10s · done 16:03 ❯ Can we investigate how theming works in ML4W. There is a .config/ml4w. There you have wallpapers. When they switch, the dominant colour is used for the theming. Can you find the one which is orange-ish and switch to it. Can you make a shell script so that we can switch the wallpaper. How ML4W theming works: - ~/.config/ml4w/wallpapers/ holds the images; ~/.config/ml4w/settings/wallpaper-folder points there. - ~/.config/ml4w/scripts/ml4w-wallpaper sets the wallpaper via awww, then runs matugen (matugen image --source-color-index 0), which does Material-You dominant-color extraction and regenerates a whole color scheme. - ~/.config/matugen/config.toml lists templates matugen writes out from that scheme: kitty, hyprland, waybar, rofi, gtk3/4, btop, swaync, quickshell, pywalfox — then the script reloads each of those. - Gotcha I hit: a plain ssh host cmd doesn't inherit the live Hyprland session's WAYLAND_DISPLAY/XDG_RUNTIME_DIR/HYPRLAND_INSTANCE_SIGNATURE, so awww query hangs forever. The script now discovers those from /run/user//hypr/ and /run/user//wayland-* on the VM and exports them before calling ml4w-wallpaper. New script: scripts/06-switch-wallpaper.sh - No argument → interactive numbered list (select) of wallpaper names fetched live from the VM. - With an argument → matches by name, with or without extension, case-insensitive (e.g. ./06-switch-wallpaper.sh golden-horizon). Available wallpapers on the VM: amazing-nature-mountain, autumns.hues, default, fall-echo-tries, golden-horizon ← current, minimal-waves, mountain, mountain_range, Nocturne-of-Steel-and-Glass, orange-mountain, road-in-usa, strata-looping, symmetry-in-the-stillness. ✻ Baked for 5m 44s · done 16:09
