basic256-qt5
Build times (auto-updated)
- i686: 1m19s (2026-09-18 08:29 UTC, MAKEFLAGS=-j6)
- x86_64: 55s (2026-09-18 08:30 UTC, MAKEFLAGS=-j6)
- pentium4: 1m1s (2026-09-18 08:31 UTC, MAKEFLAGS=-j6)
- Path: arch/maintained/basic256-qt5
- New package, created 2026-09-18 as a fallback for systems without
Qt6, after
basic256 itself moved to a Qt6-only upstream (see
memory/basic256.md’s 2026-09-18 entry for the full story).
- Content: the old
basic256 package verbatim, just renamed –
SourceForge 2.0.99.10 source, qmake (BASIC256.pro) build, Qt5
deps (qt5-multimedia/qt5-serialport/qt5-speech),
makedepends_i686/makedepends_pentium4=('icu76') (same linking
gap as documented for basic256/qgpgme-qt5/trojita-qt5-git).
pkgrel starts fresh at 1 (new package identity, even though the
content matches old basic256’s 2.0.99.10-6).
provides=('basic256') / conflicts=('basic256'): installs the
same /usr/bin/basic256 binary and desktop entry, so it can’t
coexist with the real basic256 package – same pattern as
trojita-qt5-git’s provides=('trojita').
- SourceForge’s
2.0.99.10 really is the last Qt5-buildable release:
checked GitHub’s full tag list (v2.1.beta.01 through v2.2.0) and
every single one already requires Qt6 in CMakeLists.txt – no
newer untagged Qt5 commit to bisect down to.
- Built and published cleanly on i686/x86_64/pentium4 at
2.0.99.10-1
on the first attempt (identical to the already-working basic256
build, just renamed) – no new issues.
- Not yet an AUR submodule/git repo – exists only as a plain
directory in this tree and in our private repo until the user does
their own
git init + AUR remote + push to actually submit it.
