gtksourceviewmm3
Build times (auto-updated)
- x86_64: 1m27s (2026-09-25 09:32 UTC, MAKEFLAGS=-j6)
- Category:
maintained/ (fresh new AUR submission, not a fork of an
existing AUR package – corrected 2026-09-25 after briefly landing
under adapted/; the user plans to register and push it to AUR
themselves, hence maintained/ per the same convention as
lunduke-paint-git).
- Created 2026-09-25 as a dependency of [[lunduke-edit-git]]: pins the
last GTK3-era GNOME release (
3.18.0) of gtksourceviewmm, since
official Arch’s own gtksourceviewmm package moved to the
gtksourceviewmm-4.0 pkg-config module/API (still built against
gtkmm3, just a renamed/incompatible module). lunduke-edit-git’s
meson.build specifically requires gtksourceviewmm-3.0 >=3.18,
which no longer exists anywhere else. Underlying C library
(extra/gtksourceview3) is still officially packaged, only the C++
bindings at this API version were gone.
- Initial version built from the plain release tarball (pre-generated
configure, no autoreconf/mm-common needed) – clean first try.
Switched to a git checkout (source=git+.../gtksourceviewmm.git#tag=3.18.0)
same day at the user’s request, so the package carries real upstream
commit history up to the 3.18.0 fork point instead of a bare tarball
snapshot. Considered (and rejected) pulling in Arch’s own packaging
repo history (pkgctl/gitlab.archlinux.org packaging namespace)
instead – that only tracks PKGBUILD/pkgrel history, not the
software’s source, and doesn’t extend back to 3.18.0 anyway (Arch’s
GitLab packaging migration postdates that release by years).
- The git-checkout build needs
--enable-maintainer-mode on
./configure (plus sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir=/var) –
without it, SUBDIRS skips the gmmproc codegen dir entirely (a
release tarball ships buffer.cc etc. pre-generated from
buffer.ccg; a raw git checkout only has the .ccg/.hg templates
and needs maintainer-mode’s SUBDIRS to actually run gmmproc). First
attempt without this flag failed: “No rule to make target
‘buffer.cc’”. Matches official Arch’s own gtksourceviewmm PKGBUILD
build() flags exactly (same sed -i .../libtool and M4PATH=
tricks copied from there too). makedepends needs git,
mm-common, gtkmm3-docs on top of the tarball version’s plain
pkgconf.
