Open design question (flagged 2026-09-21, not acted on)

Two separate AUR comments question whether this package should still be maintained at all:

• je-vv (2025-06-13): noted it was removed from the official repos, asked if it’s still relevant for VAAPI-on-nvidia.
• tedd (2026-06-15): points at the ArchWiki’s Hardware video acceleration page noting mesa dropped VDPAU support, suggests VA-API fully replaces it now.

This is a maintainer decision (keep maintaining / orphan / disown), not a packaging fix – flagged for the user, not acted on. If kept, nothing is currently broken (last checked pkgrel=7, no build issues raised).
