svt-av1
- New package,
adapted/. Forked from official Arch’s svt-av1 PKGBUILD
(gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/svt-av1), which
restricts arch=(x86_64) even though upstream SVT-AV1 has NEON support
for aarch64 – Arch just never built it there. Local fork adds aarch64
to arch=(), otherwise unmodified.
- Created 2026-09-24 specifically to unblock [[makemkv]]’s
ffmpeg7.1
dependency chain on aarch64 (eurobuild14) – see makemkv’s memory file
for the full chain. Initially miscategorized as private/ (reasoned
“not an AUR package, so not maintained/adapted”); corrected same day –
adapted/ is the right fit for “a local fork of any upstream package
(AUR or official Arch) with a deliberate local deviation, aiming to
contribute upstream eventually”, which is exactly this case. private/
is for packages with no public-interest upstream at all (commercial/
proprietary/EOL software). See arch/adapted/README’s new line for
this package.
- Built + published clean for both x86_64 and aarch64,
4.2.0-1, first
try. Only oddity: repo_publish.sh’s log shows “ERROR: Package matching
‘svt-av1’ not found” / “ERROR: The built package (svt-av1) is the one in
the repo right now!” lines during the run – both benign, expected noise
for a brand-new package’s first-ever publish (repo-add’s “search before
remove” step finding nothing yet, and checkpkg comparing against an
empty prior state) rather than real failures.
