thunar-dropbox
Category: local-install. First publish 2026-09-20: fresh clone from
aur.archlinux.org/thunar-dropbox.git, arch=(i686 x86_64) upstream.
i686 fails: unmet thunarx-3 pkg-config requirements
thunarx-3.pc (shipped by thunar) Requires: chases up through
gtk+-3.0 into glib-2.0 >= 2.82, gobject-2.0 >= 2.82,
harfbuzz >= 8.4.0, fontconfig >= 2.17.0. On the i686
archlinuxaba/extra tree the actual installed versions are glib2
2.80.0, harfbuzz 7.1.0, fontconfig 2.14.1 — all below what’s required,
so pkg_search_module(... thunarx-3) in thunar-dropbox’s CMakeLists
fails with “None of the required ‘thunarx-3’ found” even though
thunarx-3.pc itself is present and thunar did install correctly.
This is version lag in the upstream archlinux32 i686 repo (thunar’s own
devel .pc outpaced the glib2/harfbuzz/fontconfig versions actually
mirrored for i686), not a thunar-dropbox packaging bug — nothing to fix
in this PKGBUILD. Confirmed by checking
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/thunarx-3.pc’s Requires: against
pkg-config --exists --print-errors thunarx-3 inside the i686 build
chroot.
repo_release.sh handled the partial failure correctly on its own:
published x86_64 (0.3.2-1, succeeded) and skipped i686, per its
“proceeding to sign/publish the arch(s) that did succeed” behavior.
Re-check this next update in case the i686 repo catches up on
glib2/harfbuzz/fontconfig — if so i686 may start building cleanly
without any PKGBUILD change needed.
